Onsite Acumatica Construction Specialist

Acumatica Construction Edition is a cloud ERP solution that helps keep projects on track and all stakeholders on the same page. Our company is seeking an Onsite Acumatica Construction Specialist to leverage this platform and tailor it to our internal operations. In this mid-level role, you will focus on expertly configuring our Acumatica Construction Edition system and building robust integrations (via APIs) to connect Acumatica with other business tools. As an onsite member of our team, you will collaborate with internal stakeholders across departments to ensure the ERP aligns with project needs and improves overall operational efficiency.Key Responsibilities·        Acumatica Platform Configuration: Configure and customize Acumatica Construction Edition modules (e.g. Project Management, Financials, Job Costing) to fit our business processes. Ensure all construction workflows – from project setup to closeout – are effectively supported in the system. Optimize configurations to improve usability and data accuracy for our internal teams.·        Integration Development: Design and implement integrations between Acumatica and other internal systems (such as scheduling software, CRM, or financial tools) using Acumatica’s API and integration tools. Leverage Acumatica’s robust REST API and OData capabilities to enable seamless data exchange[2], reducing manual data entry and keeping systems in sync[3]. This includes developing API calls or using middleware to connect Acumatica with third-party applications as needed.·        Technical Expertise & Support: Serve as the in-house expert on Acumatica’s functionality and technical setup. Utilize Acumatica’s customization tools (Generic Inquiries, Business Events, Customization Projects, etc.) to extend system capabilities or create custom reports and dashboards. Troubleshoot and resolve issues in ERP workflows or integrations promptly, working with Acumatica support if necessary to address more complex problems.·        Collaboration & Training: Work closely with internal teams (project managers, accounting, IT, and others) to gather requirements and translate business needs into Acumatica configurations or customizations. Provide training and guidance to end-users on new features or process changes to ensure user adoption. Document configurations, integration processes, and best practices for future reference and team training.·        Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on Acumatica’s latest releases and features, especially those in the Construction Edition and its integration capabilities. Proactively recommend and implement enhancements or new functionalities that could benefit the company (for example, adopting new Acumatica Construction features or utilizing webhooks for real-time integrations). Ensure the ERP system evolves with our business needs and industry best practices.Qualifications and Skills·        Experience: Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with Acumatica ERP, with substantial focus on the Construction Edition[4]. Proven track record of configuring Acumatica modules and supporting construction-related business processes in a real-world environment.·        API & Integration Proficiency: Strong expertise in Acumatica’s integration methods. Familiarity with Acumatica’s web services (REST and SOAP APIs) for connecting the ERP with external systems[5]. Experience using the Acumatica API to integrate with third-party software, enabling seamless data transfers between systems without duplicate data entry[3]. Ability to design, implement, and maintain integrations or use integration platforms to connect Acumatica with other internal applications.·        Technical Skills: Proficient with the Acumatica xRP framework and related tools. Ability to create or modify Generic Inquiries, build custom screens or fields, and develop reports within Acumatica. Working knowledge of C#/.NET and SQL is a plus (since Acumatica customization often involves these technologies[6]) for more advanced scripting or troubleshooting. Comfortable with data migration and import/export processes in an ERP environment.·        Construction Domain Knowledge: Solid understanding of construction industry workflows and terminology. Familiar with project accounting, job costing, change orders, subcontractor management, and the overall project lifecycle from estimation to closeout[7]. Ability to align Acumatica’s configuration with these processes to meet the needs of project teams and accounting/finance departments.·        Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred (or equivalent work experience). A strong foundational knowledge of both technology and business operations in construction will be beneficial.·        Certifications: Acumatica certifications (such as Acumatica Certified Business Consultant or Acumatica Certified Developer, particularly for the Construction Edition) are a plus. Continuous learning through Acumatica Open University or similar programs demonstrates commitment to staying current with the platform.·        Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail when configuring systems or debugging issues. Strong communication skills to effectively work with non-technical stakeholders and translate their requirements into system solutions.
