Math Instructor

The Learning Planet Math Instructor — Mclean, VA (Part-Time) The Learning Planet provides enrichment programs to youth in Mclean, VA — building on 4+ years of programming through our partner academy in Canada, where we've worked with hundreds of students. We're launching our Math Program in Mclean and looking for an enthusiastic Math Instructor to lead fun, engaging small-group sessions for Kindergarten to 6th Grade students. What You'll Do Teach small-group math enrichment classes for students in grades K-6, following The Learning Planet's curriculum Make math concepts fun and approachable through games, puzzles, and hands-on activities Track student progress and communicate updates to parents and the program team Help set up and pack down materials before and after class Contribute ideas to improve lesson plans and classroom activities What We're Looking For Comfortable teaching math up through at least pre-algebra / algebra level Experience working with kids — tutoring, teaching, coaching, or camp counseling all count Patient, encouraging, and good at explaining things in more than one way Reliable and punctual, with a valid driver's license and way to get to local venues near Mclean. Background check required (we'll guide you through this) Bonus: teaching certification, education degree, or experience with enrichment/after-school programs Schedule & Location Part-time, weekday afternoons/evenings and/or weekends — flexible based on availability Classes held at various locations in McLean.
