Embedded Software Engineer
Overview
In this role you will develop embedded Linux software for Persistent Systems’ Wave Relay MANET platform, collaborating with a team of senior engineers. You’ll implement C/C++ and Java components, including network stack features and cryptographic security, while contributing to testing and deployment at military and customer sites. You drive robust software through code reviews and cross-functional collaboration to solve hard networking problems. This is a hands-on, impact-focused position at the intersection of hardware, security, and communications. You’ll work to advance secure, field-proven mobility networking technology.

ResponsibilitiesArchitect, develop and implement embedded Linux software on Wave Relay hardware (C/C++)Develop network stack components, backend services, security features and Java applications for the Wave Relay systemParticipate actively in code reviews and the software development lifecycleCollaborate with developers and business leaders to build solutions for new problemsSupport testing, evaluation and deployment at test locations, military facilities and customer sitesTravel to support field testing and customer engagements as needed
Key requirementsBachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field or equivalent experienceAt least 3 years of C/C++ software development experienceExperience with Java and JavaScriptFamiliarity with REST and WS APIs and UNIX socket networkingExperience with unit testing and dependency injectionMust have a US Security Clearance or the ability to obtain oneCollaborative teamworkStrong problem-solving and communicationProactive ownership and accountabilityC/C++ embedded software developmentJava and JavaScript developmentLinux/embedded Linux environments
