About the Role:
The Senior Software Engineer (C++/Qt/Linux)-Medical Device will develop and maintain foundational software components used across multiple clinical applications. The role focuses on building reusable software and data management components using C++ and Qt in a Linux environment. This is a hands-on individual contributor position for an engineer who can make sound technical decisions, solve complex problems, and work independently with minimal supervision. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle, contributing to design, implementation, integration, testing, documentation, and defect resolution. The position is remote.
Key Responsibilities:
•Design, develop, and maintain shared software components using C++ and Qt in a Linux environment.•Build reusable data management components that integrate across multiple clinical software applications.•Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including code reviews, documentation, integration, unit testing, defect resolution, and code analysis.•Ensure software components meet functional requirements, design specifications, and quality standards.•Collaborate with stakeholders to troubleshoot technical issues, resolve blockers, and support project milestones.•Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and project progress updates.•Present project updates and milestone achievements as needed.•Write and maintain unit tests to support software quality and reliability.•Work with version control systems and follow CI/CD development practices.
Required Qualifications:
•At least 2 years of professional software engineering experience.•Strong experience developing applications in C++.•Experience with the Qt framework.•Professional software development experience in a Linux environment.•Experience with Python scripting and automation.•Working knowledge of SQL and SQLite.•Experience designing and managing data models, schemas, and database architecture.•Familiarity with data serialization formats such as JSON.•Experience using version control systems such as Git or similar tools.•Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices.•Experience writing and maintaining unit tests.•Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Preferred Qualifications / Requirements•Experience developing software for robotics or medical devices.•Knowledge of 3D geometry, visualization, or graphics development.•Experience with CAD modeling or mesh processing.•Experience developing reusable software components for complex engineering applications.
