OPERATOR STATUS BOARD - HOUSEKEEPING
Hotel Status Board OperatorPOSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for providing a supreme level of guest service. Answering phones in a friendly and courteous manner and maintaining a log of calls received. Assist employees with assignments, guest inquiries, and guest requests, as well as troubleshooting and resolving guest complaints, and answer questions. Coordinate with Front Desk Services, Engineering, and housekeeping management on the status of rooms.
Top Specific Job Functions:
Sign on/off phones
Place key logs for appropriate shifts
Perform key audit 2 and inform management of discrepancies in keys and key log signatures
Give keys to the Assistant Executive (AE) that are defective and need repair, and mark on the key log
Collect DD's from South Tower to offer housekeeping services
Provide excellent guest service. Before calling the DD's, you should look up the name of the guest so you can call them by name
Continually check for due outs, discrepancies, pick-ups, and inspected rooms throughout the shift. Notify Floor Manager and ensure all rooms are updated throughout the day
Update room status per paperwork and management as requested
Place rooms OOO when needed
Keep a log of carpet care rooms
Keep a log of maintenance calls
Email work orders to engineering
Print daily statistics reports hourly
Advise FDS of guest/management issues
Contact the appropriate department for emergency issues, property issues, room issues, etc
Keep copies of status, runner, room change, & key log sheets
Provide management room status throughout the day when requested (s/o, late c/o, room changes, etc.)
Keep personal daily log of room changes, & advise appropriate manager(s) when needed
Collect key and paperwork from the floor managers at the end of the day. Update any rooms if it is necessary
Send a daily copy of the 3:00 pm DND list to the front desk, hotel managers, and A.E.
Collect keys and radios from house persons and utilities. Provide the key, radio, and runner log to swing shift
Print the last daily statistic report
Ensure that the graveyard and morning shift key log is on the counter and dated
At the end of the month status board operator is responsible for cleaning up the file cabinet from the month before

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be detail-oriented and highly organized
Must be able to sit for extended periods of time
Must have good typing skills
Must be computer literate and able to operate standard office equipment
Must be able to effectively communicate by phone, beeper, and two-way radio
Must have excellent customer service and communication skills
Must be able to obtain/maintain any necessary certifications and/or licenses
Required:
At least 6 months of Hotel Status Board Operator experience
Excellent customer service skills
Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts
Professional appearance and demeanor
High school diploma or equivalent
Able to communicate in English, in both written and oral forms
LMS knowledge and/or experience
Preferred:
Previous experience working in a similar resort setting

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must have the physical ability to access all areas of the facility; move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects; withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending, kneeling, lifting, and carrying items weighing at least 50 lbs. without restriction.
Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
Physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure; work indoors and outdoors, as well as being exposed to hot/cold surfaces, steam, and wet floors.
Most work tasks are performed indoors; however, there are events where outdoor activities are required. Indoor temperatures are moderate and controlled by internal environmental systems.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced, busy, and noisy environment.
