Responsible for supporting patient care management by supervising, coaching, and mentoring nursing and clerical staff. Assists with daily operations, scheduling, payroll management, staff competency monitoring, and performance evaluation. Coordinates special projects, resource utilization, and compliance with regulatory standards. Develops and implements strategies to improve patient outcomes, staff satisfaction, and operational efficiency. Ensures quality care delivery, patient safety, and adherence to organizational mission, vision, and values. Duties/Responsibilities: Serves as a clinical and systems resource for nurses, staff, and physicians during assigned hours. Develops staff schedules, monitors attendance, and ensures adequate nursing coverage to meet patient care needs. Supervises nursing staff, provides guidance during orientation and professional development, and assists with interviewing, performance evaluations, corrective actions and payroll. Promotes staff accountability by monitoring competency acquisition and compliance with unit and enterprise policies. Manages unit resources, including supply chain and pharmaceuticals, to support patient care delivery within budgeted targets. Identifies and addresses patient care issues, initiates actions for resolution, and ensures adherence to policies and guidelines. Coordinates and facilitates staff completion of competency requirements and progression toward divisional and institutional goals. Leads and participates in quality improvement projects in alignment with nursing practice councils and organizational objectives. Maintain perioperative services quality dashboard Performs other duties as assigned. Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required. Experience: Two years of previous surgical nursing experience required. Charge Nurse experience preferred. Licensure/Certification: Valid Kentucky Board of Nursing (KBN) License required.
