Positions available in academic and residential buildings to support student life, academic operations, and other events on campus.Starting Wage: $14.00 - $15.00 per hourFull-time and part-time Positions AvailablePositions available in first, second, and third shiftShift differential pay +$.75/hour or +$1.50/hourOpportunities to advance to Custodial Lead +$1.50/hourESSENTIAL DUTIES And RESPONSIBILITIESThe custodial staff maintains building appearance and cleanliness in all areas; lobbies, entrances, classrooms, offices, hallways, kitchens, conference rooms, staircases, study lounges; restrooms, and shower rooms.Custodial duties will consist of but not limited to:Unlock/lock building and turn on/off lightsSweepMopVacuumEmpty trash receptacles and dispose of trashClean glassDust surface areasDisinfect fixturesAnnual deep cleaningAssist with set-up for campus eventsSnow removalMaintain outside entrances year roundRecyclingClean restroom and show-room facilitiesFloor careOther duties as assignedSupervisory ResponsibilitiesIf this particular position is a lead position, you will provide guidance and organization to other team members in your buildingYou may be asked to direct student and support student workersEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE And SKILLSEducation: High School diploma and/or equivalent preferred but not requiredExperience: Must be detail orientated and have good time management and organizational skills.Basic computer knowledge and operationProven ability to work with othersMust be able to read sufficiently to follow instructions, ability to mix appropriate chemical dilution ratio and understand directions for use.Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents, and friends of the collegePHYSICAL DEMANDS And WORK ENVIRONMENTMobility: walk or stand for extended periods of timeLifting: ability to lift and carry 50 poundsDexterity: must have a full range of motion including bending, stretching, lifting, and kneeling.Be available for scheduled shiftOvertime may be requiredInside and outside of buildings, spaces may or may not be air conditionedExposure to potentially hazardous chemicals, noise, dust and fumesRequired to work in restricted places which may require stooping, bending and kneelingBuildings and grounds are smoke free
