Job Title: Construction Project Engineer - VDC/BIM Engineer Job Type: Full-time direct hire Salary range: $70k-110k max /annum (Depends on experience) Job Location: Los Angeles, CA (Hybrid). Home office locations in Woodland Hills CA and Fontana CA! Work Authorisation: US Citizen/GC Job Description This position is responsible for the development, refinement, and implementation of Building Information Models (BIM) and other Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) technology, documentation and representations. POSITION DESCRIPTION: The VDC Engineer is responsible for virtual construction needs in Preconstruction, Construction Operations and Consulting/Litigation Support Services departments. The VDC Engineer is a power-user of all of Client’s VDC software programs. The position requires a self motivated, open-minded and dedicated individual who is willing to take on new challenges. The VDC Engineer is based in Woodland Hills, CA, but travels to jobsites and partner offices as needed and may work out of jobsites as required. The position reports to Virtual Design & Construction Coordinator. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop and coordinate 3D object-oriented models Manage project documents (Drawing updates, RFIs, submittals, PCOs, and NOCs) using among other platforms, Prolog, and ProjectSight Process subcontractor RFIs and Submittal Create concrete shop drawings, including lift drawings and formwork drawings for field use Perform contract drawing review for constructability under supervision and issue RFIs Produce Layout information for Robotic Total Station Participate in project BIM coordination and clash detections Produce logistic drawings using TEKLA, Sketchup, REVIT and other software Produce model-based quantity report, implement actual schedule inform into the model Perform 3D scanning using scanner Produce as-built models based on the 3D scanned files or surveying results Create 4D/5D visual simulations incorporating BIM+TIME+COST using Navisworks or Synchro Support Preconstruction and Business Development efforts as requested by creating pursuit model and photorealistic rendering Produce presentation quality Rendered models and fly-throughs and issue and manage RFIs QUALIFICATIONS (MINIMUM SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS): Minimum Bachelors degree in architecture, engineering or construction related field or equivalent work experience 2+ years in building or design industry preferred, but not required. Ability to understand, interpret and independently use construction drawings. Understanding concepts of VDC or BIM Exposure to and preliminary experience with some Building Information Model (BIM) systems (i.e. Autodesk Revit, Bentley, Vico Constructor, TEKLA, Synchro, Navisworks, Sketchup and similar software suites) is required Excellent computer skills, including high level of proficiency in MS Office, Adobe Acrobat and BlueBeam Strong personal management skills, dedication, organization and open-mindedness required Creative thinker with ability to work in a close knit environment Other duties as may be assigned by supervisors Job Type: Full-time Pay: $62,120.11 - $110,000.00 per year Benefits: 401(k) Dental insurance Flexible schedule Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Schedule: 8 hour shift Ability to commute/relocate: Los Angeles, CA 90003: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required) Experience: Project engineering: 3 years (Required) Virtual Design & Construction (VDC): 3 years (Required) Building Information Models (BIM): 2 years (Required) construction drawings: 1 year (Required) Revit: 1 year (Required) Autodesk: 1 year (Required) Bluebeam: 1 year (Required) Work Location: In person
