The Derivatives team as a whole is rated Tier 1 by Legal 500. It's a strong and tightly-knit team, and one that is keen to grow further, building on a successful track record. The team has fantastic clients, including a range of major investment banks and funds and operates at the top of its market with a broad product offering, including OTC derivatives across all asset classes, securitised product issuances and platforms, repo, securities lending and related activities, asset repackaging and collateralised financing structures, digital assets and fintech and capital- and liquidity-driven transaction. Those products can be complex, and they are constantly evolving to respond to market changes. In addition to transactional work, and given the dense legal and regulatory environment in which we operate, there is a strong advisory and analytical component to what we do. Successful applicants will have a balance of attributes to meet these demands, will need to be intellectually curious and business-minded and above all will need to relish the challenge. They will be strongly supported by senior lawyers, by an extensive training programme, by IT, automation and newlaw resources and by a dedicated legal expertise function. Job overviewWorking as part of a team, you will act on all elements of a deal from term sheet stage, through negotiation of transaction documents to closing and post-closing. Alternatively, if the brief is advisory, you will look to analyse the issue, drawing on the Firm's expertise resources, and prepare initial views and advice before engaging with senior colleagues. In either case you will interact with clients and with colleagues from the globe and across the Firm, and will need to be responsive to client needs and open to opportunities to grow your expertise and the business as a whole.
