This specialized position requires a strong understanding of instructional processes, educational technology applications, and effective professional development strategies. The DTS will primarily serve Willow Brook Elementary and Academy of Innovation at Remington and is expected to spend the majority of their time supporting staff at that level, while also assisting with district-wide initiatives as needed. As a certified staff member, the DTS will report directly to the building principal or their designee.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Collaborates with building administration to plan, facilitate, and evaluate the impact of professional learning experiences focused on the effective use of technology to enhance teaching and learning and support district goals and initiatives.Researches, models, and implements innovative technology integration practices that promote student achievement.Works with teachers to develop technology-supported lessons and integrate digital citizenship into instruction.Engages in reflective dialogue with teachers to connect instructional practices to research-based strategies that leverage existing and emerging technologies.Serves as a model educator by pairing technology with sound pedagogy and implementing personalized learning strategies and practices.Assists instructional staff with planning and problem-solving related to technology integration.Assists with managing and publishing content on school websites and social media platforms and provides training for new website authors as needed.Supports teachers in selecting, implementing, and integrating technology tools and resources aligned to the board-approved curriculum and compliant with district policies regarding student data privacy.Serves as a representative for teachers at monthly District Technology Specialist (DTS) meetings.Qualifications:Appropriate Missouri Teacher CertificateMaster's Degree or higher in Instructional Technology or other relevant field (desired)Additional Duties:Performs other related tasks as assigned by the principal(s).(The responsibilities listed above are representative of the position and are not intended to be an all-inclusive list of duties.)Travel Requirements:Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Knowledge of instructional processes, instructional coaching techniques, and adult learning theoryDemonstrate the ability to implement personalized learning techniques effectively in the classroomStrong understanding of content curriculum standards and frameworksExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent collaboration and interpersonal skillsExperience planning and delivering professional development to adult learnersAbility to create clear documentation, reference materials, and instructions for new technologies and technological processes for students, parents, and educators with varying levels of technical experienceKnowledge of effective technology integration modelsExperience using and demonstrating the use of Canvas LMSExperience using and demonstrating a wide variety of educational technology tools including but not limited to:Apple macOS and iOSiLife - iMovie, GarageBand, iTunesiWork - Pages, Keynote, NumbersGoogle Workspace Apps and ToolsArtificial Intelligence toolsOffice - Word, Excel, PowerPointApple Teacher recognition or Apple Learning Coach certificationWhy Join Us?A supportive community dedicated to student achievement.Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.Opportunities for professional development and career growth.A district that values innovation and collaboration.Work Hours: 7.25 hours per day; 5 days per weekWork calendar: 189 days (2026-2027 calendar)FLSA Status: ExemptSalary: Commensurate with years of full-time teaching experience. Service credit is awarded on a year-by-year basis, with a maximum of 20 years recognized.
