Our client operates a multi-million-dollar precision manufacturing facility serving demanding industrial markets.Position SummaryThe Machine Shop / Facilities Manager is responsible for managing and continuously improving all operational aspects of the manufacturing facility. This is a hands-on, high-energy leadership role reporting directly to the President.Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure a safe, OSHA, and environmentally compliant workplaceManage facilities operations and lead modernization initiativesSupervise machinist, assembly, and welding personnelCoach direct and indirect employees to maximize morale, engagement, and productivityUtilize visual metrics to provide constant feedback on performance vs. plan and continuous improvement goalsOwn capacity, expense, inventory, and capital investment budgeting and forecastingLead machine shop and test area capacity planningManage all aspects of the supply chain, including supplier selection and contract negotiationOversee critical shop activities including production planning, preventative maintenance, and continuous improvementUtilize EPICOR Release 10 ERP system to schedule and track production transactionsInterface with customer representatives and third-party quality assurance organizations during shop inspections and customer witness testingParticipate in the Quality Review BoardDrive 5S and lean implementationReduce slow-moving inventory and manufacturing costsProvide cost estimates for sales and engineering in support of proposal and product development activitiesRequired QualificationsMinimum 10 years of machine shop supervisory experience, preferably in a high-precision manufacturing environmentEngineering degree or equivalent work experienceStrong CAD/CAM, CNC, and manual machine tool knowledge and experienceBasic knowledge of ASME welding and pressure vessel code requirementsAbility to read engineering drawings and specificationsExperience working within ISO or Military Standard Quality assurance systemsWorking knowledge of Microsoft OfficeRoot cause analysis, problem solving, and corrective action implementationBasic understanding of casting techniques and casting quality controlContinuous improvement mindset and driveLeadership and coaching skillsDesire and aptitude to grow into more senior positions within the company
