Job Description – Software Developer (Level 2)Location: Menands, NY (Onsite)Job Type: ContractPosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Software Developer (Level 2) to support the modernization, enhancement, and maintenance of enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and implementing software solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality applications. This role requires strong experience in Java development, relational databases, REST APIs, and modern web technologies.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise software applications.Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.Develop and maintain applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Java EE technologies.Design, develop, and consume RESTful APIs and web services.Develop and maintain relational database solutions using Oracle SQL or PostgreSQL.Create technical design documents, unit test plans, and implementation documentation.Perform unit testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and defect resolution.Provide production support and resolve complex technical issues.Participate in release management, deployment activities, and environment coordination.Collaborate with business analysts, developers, QA teams, and stakeholders throughout the SDLC.Follow coding standards, security best practices, and software development methodologies.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, MIS, or a related field.4+ years of software development experience across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).4+ years of hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Java EE.Strong experience with Oracle SQL, PostgreSQL, or other relational databases.Experience designing, developing, testing, and implementing enterprise applications.Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.Preferred QualificationsExperience developing Single Page Applications (SPA) using Angular and TypeScript.Strong understanding of component-based architecture, asynchronous programming, and modern web application development.Experience designing and implementing REST APIs, authentication, authorization, and API security.Experience with Git version control and branching strategies.Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, and DevOps practices.Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.Technical SkillsJavaSpring BootJava EEOracle SQLPostgreSQLAngularTypeScriptREST APIsGitCI/CDHTML, CSS, JavaScriptAgile/ScrumSoftware Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
