Maintenance Technician / Porter

Overview We are seeking a proactive and versatile Maintenance Technician / Porter to join our dynamic facilities team. In this energetic role, you will be responsible for maintaining the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of our residential and commercial properties. Your hands-on skills will ensure that our facilities operate smoothly, providing a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors alike. Responsibilities The Maintenance / Porter is responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness, safety, and appearance of the property. This role supports the maintenance team by ensuring common areas are clean, grounds are well-kept, and minor maintenance tasks are completed promptly to provide a positive experience for residents and guests. Painting units will also be required. Key Responsibilities Porter / Grounds Duties Maintain cleanliness of all common areas including hallways, stairwells, breezeways, laundry rooms, clubhouse, and restrooms Pick up trash and debris throughout the property grounds daily Empty trash receptacles and assist with dumpster areas and trash compactor upkeep Sweep, mop, vacuum, and power wash walkways and common spaces as needed Maintain curb appeal by keeping landscaping areas clean and presentable Assist with snow removal or weather-related cleanup when applicable Maintenance Support Assist maintenance staff with basic repairs and unit turns Perform minor maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, air filters, smoke detector batteries, and touch-up painting Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or property damage promptly Assist with moving appliances, furniture, or supplies Help prepare vacant units for move-in readiness General Duties Follow all safety procedures and company policies Provide excellent customer service to residents and vendors Respond professionally to resident requests and concerns Maintain organized maintenance shop and storage areas Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous porter, janitorial, or maintenance experience preferred Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, walking, and standing for extended periods Basic knowledge of tools and maintenance equipment Reliable transportation and punctual attendance Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently Skills & Abilities Strong work ethic and positive attitude Ability to prioritize tasks and follow instructions Team-oriented with good communication skills Willingness to learn maintenance skills Job Type: Full-time Pay: $19.50 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Employee discount Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Work Location: In person
