Note: The client is looking for an individual who works in the Fort Meyer, Tampa, Orlando, or Jacksonville area. The candidate will have experience in gas distribution and transmission and registered as a PE in the state of FL. Job Description: The client offers a broad range of professional, engineering, and technical services to the telecommunications and power delivery markets. The client has a current opening for a Senior Gas Distribution Engineer, which includes: Communications Design Services, Energy Distribution Services, Utility Pole Inspection, and Environmental Services. Responsibilities: The Senior Engineer will act as, project engineer or project manager Direct a multi-discipline design team to meet project schedules and deadlines Perform standard engineering analysis and provide recommendations associated with gas capacity requests, system operating procedures, equipment and facility integrity assessments, and system analysis Perform standard engineering analysis/calculations and designs (e.g., site layout, piping design, material specification) associated with small scale complex or large-scale complex projects Independently collate and analyze data within one area using pre-determined tools, methods, and formats to support the department's decision-making process Execute instructions and requests, plan and organize resources and make appropriate arrangements to ensure that work is carried out efficiently and in line with relevant policies and processes Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders to obtain and share information that will benefit the client. Undertake specific tasks of varying complexity to support colleagues in the design of technical solutions Build upon technical/professional skills within own area of specialty or of other processes to continually grow your contribution to the business Conduct specific projects within area of capability and perform engineering studies, analysis, and investigations to recommend corrective action in problem areas, or to prevent problems Will review completed assignments by other drafters/designers for accuracy and completeness and will perform inter-disciplinary reviews of designs and drawings to confirm design compatibility Position requires the technical supervision of other drafters/designers. This position also provides technical guidance to other drafters/designers in other disciplines or functional area. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering school Professional Engineer certification required Minimum 5-7 years of gas distribution design experience Knowledge of relevant industry practice, standards, and legislation Knowledge of current trends within the industry and developments in legislation or regulation Valid driver's license The ability to work independently with minimal supervision Applicants must be detail-orientated and have the ability to multi-task Candidates must pass pre-employment screenings that may include a drug test, background check, reference checks, and driver's license check with an acceptable driving record.
