: Service Manager – Commercial HVACSalary: $84,000 – $113,000 + full benefitsTravel: ~20% to job sitesAbout the RoleWe're looking for a Service Manager to lead and grow a commercial HVAC service team. This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day service operations, managing field technicians, driving financial performance, and maintaining strong customer relationships.You'll work closely with the Business Unit Manager to ensure service delivery, team development, and operational efficiency all align with company goals.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn the financial performance of the service division, including budgets, pricing, and cost trackingMonitor and maintain cash flow, resolving discrepancies between estimates and actual costsBuild and maintain strong client relationships to ensure satisfaction and repeat businessOversee dispatch operations and communication between office and field teamsManage and develop service technicians, including roles, responsibilities, and team structurePartner with leadership on hiring, performance reviews, compensation, and personnel decisionsDrive labor productivity and quality standards alongside Field SupervisorsEstimate service repairs and replacement projectsEnsure compliance with safety, contracts, insurance, and risk management requirementsSupport quality control across all service workMaintain high team morale and retentionOversee inventory, tools, and service vehicle readinessLead training and development programs for field staffConduct new hire onboarding and service orientationCoordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and internal teamsParticipate in leadership meetings focused on operations, safety, and performance improvementsSupport implementation of technology and software tools for service operationsQualificationsRequired:5+ years of experience in HVAC service or related fieldExperience leading or mentoring techniciansStrong communication and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Preferred:Bachelor's degree in a technical or business-related fieldStrong understanding of the local HVAC market and competitorsWork EnvironmentMix of office and field time (~20% travel)Primarily desk-based with regular coordination across teamsExperience:Commercial HVAC Leadership: 5 years (Preferred)Commercial HVAC Manager: 3 years (Required)Budgeting, Pricing and P&L Management: 3 years (Preferred)Requirements5+ years of experience in HVAC serviceExperience leading or mentoring technicians 3+ yearsStrong communication and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Preferred:Bachelor's degree in a technical or business-related fieldStrong understanding of the local HVAC market and competitorsBenefits401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offTuition reimbursementVision insurance
