Job Description Senior Mechanical Design EngineerLocation: Valdese, NCPay: $132,000–$140,000Job Type: Full-TimePosition OverviewM Force Partners is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to serve as a technical leader within a battery product development environment. This role will lead the design, validation, and production launch of new battery systems while supporting innovation, manufacturability, and long-term product performance.The ideal candidate will have strong experience designing electromechanical products within manufacturing environments and will enjoy working hands-on through the full product lifecycle from concept and prototyping to testing and production implementation.This role offers the opportunity to work closely with suppliers, internal teams, and customers while leveraging an in-house prototype shop and fully operational testing lab to develop and validate new battery technologies.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the design and development of new battery products and electromechanical systemsServe as the technical lead and project manager throughout the product development lifecycleCommunicate directly with customers to ensure designs meet application and performance requirementsDesign and improve battery systems using new components, materials, and assembly techniquesDevelop technical documentation including data sheets, assembly instructions, validation plans, bills of materials, and procurement specificationsIdentify and qualify vendors, suppliers, tooling, and new componentsCoordinate with internal departments to transition new products into productionOversee prototype builds, testing, and product certification activitiesInvestigate new manufacturing and assembly techniques to improve performance, reliability, and manufacturabilityManage technical documentation systems including PDM and ECO processesSupervise prototype shop and document control techniciansSupport operational efficiency and continuous improvement initiativesEnsure compliance with safety, environmental, military, IEC, UL, and transportation standardsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline7–10 years of experience in mechanical design of electromechanical products such as batteries, automotive systems, appliances, medical devices, or telecommunications productsExperience in product development within manufacturing environmentsExperience designing and specifying assemblies involving:Injection-molded plastic componentsMachined plastic componentsWiring harnessesWeldmentsElectronic protection devices and connectorsStrong project management, communication, and organizational skillsProven ability to improve manufacturability, reliability, and product lifecycle performanceExperience interpreting and applying standards including:MIL-PRF specificationsIEC standardsUL compliance requirementsUN transportation regulationsSupervisory experience leading technicians or support staffProficiency with 3D CAD mechanical design softwareHands-on experience using assembly and testing equipment such as:WeldersSoldering ironsTest equipmentEncapsulant dispensersMust meet the definition of a "US Person" under 22 CFR 120.62Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United StatesJob presented by M Force PartnersM Force Partners is a specialized recruitment partner connecting top-tier talent with leading organizations.
