Senior Accountant
About the RoleWe're looking for a detail-driven Senior Accountant to join our growing construction team immediately. You'll own the full accounting cycle from day-to-day transactions through month-end close and financial statement preparation playing a critical role in the financial health of our projects and company. This is a high-impact position with direct visibility to leadership and real opportunity to shape our accounting processes.ResponsibilitiesFull-cycle accounting including AP, AR, general ledger, and bank reconciliationsMonthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes on time, every timePreparation of accurate financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow)Job cost accounting and project-level financial reporting across active construction projectsWIP (work-in-progress) schedules and percentage-of-completion calculationsSubcontractor billing review, lien waiver tracking, and contract complianceCoordination with project managers to ensure job cost accuracy and budget alignmentSupport for annual audits, tax preparation, and external reportingProcess improvement initiatives to strengthen internal controls and efficiency QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CPA candidate preferred4+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in construction or a project-based industryRequired SkillsStrong working knowledge of job costing, WIP reporting, and percentage-of-completion accountingProficiency in construction accounting software (Sage 300 CRE, Viewpoint, Procore, or similar)Advanced Excel skills; comfortable building and maintaining financial models and reportsPreferred SkillsAvailability to start immediatelyEqual Opportunity StatementEmpower Staffing is committed to diversity and inclusivity in the workplace.At Empower Staffing, we are dedicated to connecting top talent with leading companies.
