Job Opportunity At Baptist MD Anderson Cancer CenterBaptist MD Anderson Cancer Center, located in beautiful Northeast Florida, is actively seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for the Surgical Oncology team to join our dynamic within the Division of Surgery. In support of our mission, we recently opened a 330,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility dedicated solely to oncology caredesigned to enhance the patient experience and foster interdisciplinary collaboration.Position Overview: We are seeking an Advanced Practice Provider for the Section of Surgical Oncology to support the surgical oncology team. The ideal candidate will have experience or a strong interest in oncology and surgical specialties.Responsibilities Include:Providing care for patients with malignant and complex conditions of the gastrointestinal tract, skin, and soft tissues (including liver, pancreas, gallbladder, and stomach), and melanoma and sarcoma.Inpatient care: First-assistant in the OR (robot, laparoscopic, open cases). Rounding on patients in the acute post-operative phase who are admitted to the hospital for surgical oncology and colorectal surgery. Post-operative wound care and pain management. Timely collaboration with consulting physicians. Coordinating discharges from the hospital. Evaluation of new consults.Outpatient Care: Evaluates new and existing patients in collaboration with staff physicians, as well as a multidisciplinary team, completes outpatient documentation in a timely fashion, and performs clinic procedures as applicable.Hours: Monday Friday. Shared night and weekend call: home call for service during the week, and weekend call with inpatient rounding and OR coverage for emergency cases.Education Required: Master's Degree. Education Preferred: Master's Degree. Experience: 1-2 years of experience as a first assist or RNFA preferred. License and Certification: Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Master's Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program. Current Florida licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA).
