What You'll Do Treats all information about residents, their condition, and family as confidential. Follows Residents' Rights policies at all times. Weighs soiled laundry loads. Checks and cleans equipment for proper functioning. Sorting and Washing: Uses personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Sorts soiled articles according to type, color, contamination. Removes stains as needed. Washes soiled laundry, entering the correct wash program. Reports equipment defects to the supervisor. Removes PPE and washes hands before leaving soiled linen area. Drying and Finishing: Dries wet laundry load. Removes dry linens. Sorts and folds/hang personal clothes. Linen Distribution: Loads carts and transports laundry. Labeling: Prints and affixes resident name labels to personal garments. Follows waste disposal procedures in accordance with facility policy. Identifies and reports any equipment malfunction to the supervisor. Attends department and corporate in-service training programs. Handles clean and soiled laundry according to established infection control policies and procedures. Distributes clothing to resident rooms in accordance with the theft loss program. Changes chemical drums. Assumes Quality Assurance duties as assigned. Consistently works cooperatively with volunteers, residents, resident representatives, and facility staff. Accepts and performs all duties assigned in a cooperative, effective, timely and professional manner. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned. What We're Looking ForAbility to understand and follow oral and printed instructions. Good physical and mental health, sense of responsibility, and high degree of personal hygiene and cleanliness.
