We hire the best people for the job, equip them with what they need, and empower them to do whatever it takes to get the job done right, including making decisions on the spot to create immediate value for our partners.Job Description:The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide variety of heavy equipment and machinery used in the steel mill. This includes cranes, forklifts, conveyors, loaders, and other industrial machinery vital to the mill's operations.Key Responsibilities:Perform scheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs on heavy equipment and machinery.Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues and implement appropriate corrective actions.Troubleshoot and repair mechanical breakdowns efficiently to minimize downtime.Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.Collaborate with other maintenance team members to ensure optimal equipment performance.Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies at all times.Assist in the installation and setup of new equipment as required.Ensure a clean and organized work environment.Qualifications:Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, preferably in a steel mill or similar industrial setting.Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.Experience with welding, fabrication, and machining is a plus.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification preferred.Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.Ability to work in a physically demanding and fast-paced environment.Preferred Qualifications:Certification in heavy equipment mechanics or related fields.Experience with crane repair and maintenance.Familiarity with industrial safety standards and practices.Previous experience in a steel mill or manufacturing plant is highly desirable.BenefitsHealth, Dental, and Vision insurancePaid Time Off and Holidays401(k)TMS International is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
