Pipe Fitter O&M North Slope ConstructionThe Pipe Fitter will lay out, fabricate, assemble, install, maintain, and assist welders in preparation of piping and pipeline systems and industrial processing piping.Essential duties include:Updating and maintaining the department filing system, records, and files.Selecting type and size of pipe and related materials according to drawings and job specifications.Inspecting worksites to determine presence of obstructions, plans sequence of installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other crafts.Cutting and beveling pipe using cutting torches, saws, threading machines and pipe cutting machine.Assembling and installing a variety of valves and fittings.Preparing and fitting pipe for welding by a certified pipe welder or joins pipe and fittings by means of threaded, brazed, or soldered joints.Securing pipe to structure with clamps, brackets, or hangers.Cutting penetration in walls, ceilings or floors as needed.Other duties as assigned.Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.Required experience includes:High School Diploma or equivalent.Five (5) years of experience in pipefitting in an industrial environment.Possess general knowledge of the ANSI, ASME, and PFI codes and standards.Show a basic understanding and knowledge of the functional operation and purpose of the various piping system components such as valves, fittings, and expansion joints.Display a thorough knowledge of the various sizes and grades of standard materials employed in an industrial plant such as bolts, gaskets, fittings, and valves.Have ability to read, interpret and determine dimensional information for drawings and specifications such as isometrics, orthographic, P&ID's, equipment arrangements, etc.Demonstrate proficiency in the basic skills of measuring, layout work, cutting, straightening, beveling, threading and fitting pipe.Demonstrate the ability to properly use, interpret and care for the tools and equipment commonly employed on an industrial project such as cutting torches, threading machines, grinder, beveling machines, round-up clamps, etc.NSTC Certification.Preferred qualifications include:Experience working in the Oil and Gas industry, North Slope, and/or in Arctic Environment.
