Job Description Fiber Optic Splicer – Job DescriptionPosition SummaryThe Fiber Optic Splicer is responsible for the installation, splicing, testing, and maintenance of fiber optic networks in a variety of environments including aerial, underground, and FTTH systems. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high-quality standards.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, splice, and maintain new and existing fiber optic networks.Prepare and splice single-mode (SM) and multi-mode (MM) fiber optic cables, including ribbon and loose tube configurations.Perform fiber splicing using single and mass fusion splicing equipment.Terminate fiber using connectors and pigtails.Conduct testing using OTDR, OLTS, power meters, and VFL equipment.Install splice closures, capsules, and associated hardware.Perform mid-sheath cable entries and work within active fiber networks.Troubleshoot, repair, and respond to network outages.Maintain system integrity without causing service interruptions.Document all work performed, including production reports, test results, and customer documentation.Maintain and care for tools, equipment, vehicles, and trailers.Complete certification testing and ensure network performance meets specifications.Follow all safety regulations including OSHA, NESC, NEC, and company standards.Required Skills & QualificationsMinimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in fiber optic splicing required.Certified in fiber optic splicing preferredPay range $25-35 hourly
