Apply research to planning, developing, and testing mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.ResponsibilitiesDesign and Analysis:Develop and design mechanical components, systems, and machinery.Analyze and evaluate designs for performance, safety, and efficiency.Conduct simulations and modeling to predict and optimize system behavior.Product DevelopmentCollaborate with cross-functional teams to bring new products from concept to production.Select materials, manufacturing processes, and components for product assembly.Create detailed engineering drawings and specifications.Utilizes engineering principles in the product development process.Testing And PrototypingDevelop and conduct experiments and tests to validate designs and prototypes.Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues and challenges.Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.Identify opportunities for product and process improvements.Implement cost-effective solutions to enhance performance.Documentation And ReportingMaintain accurate records, including design files, testing data, and reports.Communicate project progress and findings through technical reports and presentations.RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field).1-3 years of experience in an engineering role in a manufacturing or industrial environment.1-3 years of experience with CAD software and other engineering tools.Travel & Work Arrangements/RequirementsThis position will be based in Davidson, NC, with minimal anticipated travel.What We OfferAt Ingersoll Rand, we embrace a culture of personal ownership — taking responsibility for our company, our communities, and our environment, as well as our individual health and well-being.
