Injection Molding Maintenance Technician

Headquartered in Switzerland since late 2018, with sites in Sweden, Taiwan, and the United States.Job OverviewThe main responsibilities of the Injection Mold Maintenance Technician are Maintenance and troubleshooting activities on Engel Injection Molding Machines. Be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all the Injection Molding Machine in the facility.Main ResponsibilitiesPerform maintenance on the injection unit, this includes replacing thermocouples, heater bands, the screw assembly, and barrel changes.Operate overhead cranes and forklifts.Use of milling machines, lathes, drill presses, sanders, grinders, and polishers.Collaborates with Production Planner and Molding Supervisor to schedule preventative maintenance activities.Support the growth & development of the molding team by training technicians in areas of expertise as well as learning new systems.Maintains time and maintenance records in SAP.Lead the review and author of SOPs and other documents, as required.Collaborates with the Predictive & Equipment Maintenance Manager to develop, recommend, and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.Collaborate with the Predictive & Equipment Maintenance Manager to participate in the world-class Total Productive Maintenance teams that will keep production equipment in excellent condition, keep lines running at high efficiencies and maintain proper stock of all service and repair parts.Pull and set molds in small to medium-sized injection molding presses using hi-lo and overhead cranes.Knowledge in GDP (ALCOA) cGMP, 11CFR, ISO8, ISO9Support IMM Commissioning and Qualification activities.Oversee the MNT OPS for IMM that includes day-to-day operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting support for IMM and process area improvements.Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure the efficient operation of the IMM equipment and machinery in the facility.Assist on the execution of all URS, DS, and FS of the IMM equipment.Support investigations related to IMM to help determine deviation root causes, recommended immediate mitigation, long-term preventative strategies, and CAPAs.Support continuous improvement projects to improve the safety, robustness, and compliance of the IMM equipment.Enforce safe operating practices and establish a safe environment for the IMM and customers by abiding by all the procedures and policies as established by the company.Organize and execute all work order requests assigned promptly.Understand and be familiar with general maintenance workflow processes, procedures, and systems.Interface with the Facilities, Engineering and Capital Project Management, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, EH&S, and Manufacturing Operation.Create and implement measures to minimize breakdowns and repairs (performing quality checks of all IMM equipment, tools, equipment, etc.)Record and track daily progress/error reports using KPI.Oversee IMM & facility equipment repairs & spare parts.Develop and manage maintenance schedules to ensure timely and cost-effective maintenance activities.Must be able to support the IMM Department and Facility maintenance team during shutdown, holidays, and off hours.Skills and QualificationHigh School Diploma or Associate of Applied Science Degree, apprenticeship graduate, or equivalent work experience.Minimum 5 years of experience in maintaining control systems and electrical/electronic repair.At least 10 years of experience in a maintenance tech role with plastic injection molding, preferably in a medical device manufacturing facility, Biopharma, or medical manufacturing facilityExperience utilizing prints, schematics, and documentation for troubleshooting issuesProven track record of developing and implementing effective maintenance programs and managing maintenance staff.Excellent in troubleshooting, analyzing, and solving problems with various electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic controls and systems.Strong knowledge of maintenance best practices: preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance, and reliability-centered maintenanceExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate staff.Knowledge of local, state, and federal applicable regulationsStrong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex maintenance issues.Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision.Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, including FDA regulations and ISO standards We OfferCompetitive compensation packageModern working environment with state-of-the-art facilities and technologiesChallenging assignments in a fast growing and innovative industryPosition in a dynamic, international team of highly skilled professionalsVarious opportunities for personal and professional development within a global organizationInterested in joining SHL Medical and in supporting us with your expertise and personality?
