Technology Advisory Director/Manager

Position Overview:BGS Consulting is seeking a Senior Manager or Associate Director to serve as the right hand to the Technology Advisory Practice Leader. This is a high-impact, client-facing role for a seasoned technology consultant who thrives at the intersection of strategy and execution. You will lead complex engagements across the full deal and transformation lifecycle — from pre-close diligence through separation, integration, and stabilization — while helping build and scale the practice.Location: Vienna, Va (Tyson's Corner)- (Hybrid, 4 days on-site/week)Role Responsibilities: Lead and manage technology due diligence engagements for M&A transactions, assessing IT infrastructure, architecture, talent, vendor contracts, cybersecurity posture, and technical debtDrive carve-out and separation planning and execution, including Day 1 readiness, TSA (Transition Service Agreement) design, and standalone IT buildoutLead post-merger integration efforts, including integration planning, systems consolidation, application rationalization, and technology roadmap alignment across combined entitiesManage integration management office (IMO) workstreams, tracking milestones, dependencies, and risks across IT and business functionsOwn workstream delivery across complex, multi-phase engagements with minimal oversightServe as a trusted technology advisor to C-suite and PE sponsor clients, translating technical findings into business risk and value narrativesDevelop and maintain client relationships, supporting business development efforts including proposals, pitching, and scope developmentMentor and manage junior consultants and analysts on engagementsCollaborate with the Finance and Accounting practice on integrated deal support engagementsContribute to practice-building initiatives including methodology development, thought leadership, and recruitingQualifications: 8–12 years of experience in technology consulting, with meaningful exposure to M&A, private equity, or transaction advisory environmentsHands-on experience leading tech due diligence, post-merger integration, and/or carve-out/separation engagementsDemonstrated ability to manage competing priorities across both integration and separation workstreams simultaneouslyStrong understanding of enterprise IT environments — ERP systems, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, data, and application landscapesFamiliarity with common integration challenges including data migration, identity and access management, network consolidation, and application decommissioningAbility to independently manage client relationships and engagement deliveryExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level presentation and report writingExperience working in or with professional services, Big 4, or boutique advisory firms preferredBachelor's degree required; MBA or relevant certifications (CISSP, PMP, CPA) a plusWhy BGSBGS offers the intimacy and agility of a boutique firm with the sophistication of work typically found at larger consultancies.
