Starlight Cafe Kitchen Assistant

Position Summary: The Kitchen Assistant will help prepare menu items according to company standards and assist in the daily setup of kitchen stations. The Kitchen Assistant responsibilities can include preparing ingredients, line cooking, pizza oven operation, food expedition, monitoring inventory of supplies, and cleaning after each shift. A successful Kitchen Assistant will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction. Responsibilities: Set up and stocking of all stations with necessary supplies. Prepare food for service (chopping vegetables, slicing meats, preparing any daily/weekly specials, etc.). Clean workstation throughout the day and assist with dishes. Cook menu items in collaboration with the rest of the kitchen staff. Follow manager and assistant manager instructions. Clean up stations and take care of all food in accordance with common board of health regulations. Stock inventory appropriately. Ability to be trained on several stations to allow the flexibility to be moved to or scheduled in various areas as needed (line cooking, grill and frier cooking, pizza preparation, oven operation, expedition of food, etc.). Ensure high quality food comes out simultaneously within an appropriate time frame. Comply with all nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards. Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and guests. Adhere to company dress code to professionally represent our brand. Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Age: 18 years Able to read, write, and speak English Able to work flexible schedule and adjust to seasonal shifts Able to push, pull, carry, or lift 40 pounds Able to stand for up to 8 hours Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks Familiarity with industries best practices, including kitchen safety and language Other Duties: Statements included in this description may not necessarily represent an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, skills, duties, requirements or working conditions associated with the position.
