Approved residencies are: (1) Those approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) - OR (2) Those approved by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) -OR (3) Other residencies (non-US residency training programs followed by a minimum of five years of verified practice in the United States) - which the local Medical Staff Executive Committee deems to have provided the applicant with appropriate professional training and believes has exposed the physician to an appropriate range of patient care experiencesResidents currently enrolled in ACGME/AOA accredited residency training programs and who would otherwise meet the basic requirements for appointment are eligible to be appointed as "Physician Resident Providers" (PRPs)PRPs must be fully licensed physicians (i.e. - not a training license) and may only be appointed on an intermittent or fee-basisPRPs are not considered independent practitioners and will not be privilegedrather - they are to have a "scope of practice" that allows them to perform certain restricted duties under supervisionAdditionally - Primary Care - Office of Community Care - Women's Health - and Compensation & Pension Oversees a large - complex organization that encompasses several component parts integral to the functioning of an outpatient/inpatient facilityIncumbent will have broad and overall responsibility for multi‑service level organizational units and have full responsibility for clinical practice - program management - education - human resources management and supervision of those servicesManages substantive parts of specialized - complex - professional services which significantly impact the care provided to VeteransExercises administrative - programmatic - clinical and academic oversight of all assigned programs to ensure delivery of quality services in coordination with the Chief of Staff or ADPCS where appropriateProvides leadership and guidance on independent assessments and recommendations for policy - Ensures that programs - processes and procedures are in place to meet VHA performance measures and monitorsUses chart reviews and data analytic methods to improve performance and quality problemsMonitors work performance to ensure that requirements are satisfiedinterpret and process a wide variety of data related to program planning and specialized needs of the Veterans -
