Job Description :
As an instructor & trainer supporting space operations for a national security program space warfighting mission, you will be part of a training team responsible for equipping assigned staff with the knowledge and technical skills necessary to win in a contested space environment. The Trainer role provides technical system expertise and shares relevant mission knowledge with all assigned personnel across geographically separated operations centers jointly conducting flight safety, intelligence, and mission protection tasks. A successful candidate will advance training courseware development and documentation while supporting scheduled classroom instruction & hands-on training. Trainers are expected to continuously grow their depth of knowledge and adapt to new developing system capabilities, at times assisting engineering in system integration and acceptance efforts. In an ever-changing space domain, trainers must aim to impart knowledge accurately, swiftly and extensively to efficiently influence course of action (COA) planning and drive improvements to tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs).
Responsibilities:
· Provide formal classroom and hands-on training for staff in all work center divisions
· Understand significant system capabilities, workflows, data types/formats, system dependencies with ability to develop quick contingency procedures
· Attend training meetings, ops update briefings, and participate in exercise, strategic planning meetings, and system tradecraft demonstrations when called upon
· Facilitate system integration and development efforts as user resource
· Recognize and report on any system roadblocks, vulnerabilities, and/or procedural and training deficits posing risk to mission success
· Offer ad hoc and supplemental hands-on system training for operators upon request
· Work with team to build and update existing training documentation and visual aids
· Maintain enhanced system proficiency (i.e., Systems Tool Kit (STK) and other software)
· Work full-time on-site at a government facility (*some travel, up to 15%, is necessary to meet training and mission requirements)
Required Qualifications:
· 6+ years’ space operations and/or space intelligence experience with bachelor’s degree (BS); 10 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree; 4+ years relevant experience with master’s degree in related STEM or teaching fields
· 2+ years’ experience using flight safety tools (i.e., ASW, SuperCombo) tools, STK or similar orbital visualization propagators and threat determination analysis tools
· 1+ years’ formal training/instructor experience
· Excellent oral & written communication skills
· Active TS/SCI clearance with adjudicated CI Poly or willingness to submit to Polygraph examination
Preferred Qualifications:
· Expert-level knowledge of foreign/domestic space & ground system threat capabilities
· 10+ years’ prior space operations experience (i.e., Flight Safety, Space Intel or satellite vehicle mission planning experience etc.) across DoD, Intelligence Community or commercial space tracking entities
· Familiarity with orbital analyst/flight safety systems and/or Systems Tool Kit (STK)
· Prior experience with Air Force/Space Force training records and positional task lists
· Proficiency in MS word and PowerPoint
· Experience interacting with military and civilian team members of all ranks
Security Clearance:
This position requires a TS/SCI clearance with adjudicated CI Polygraph.
