Sr Process Engineer
OverviewThis role is ideal for a highly technical manufacturing engineer who excels at leading complex projects, optimizing machining processes, and developing advanced tooling and fixturing solutions. The Sr Process Engineer will take ownership of high-impact engineering initiatives — from concept through production — while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to improve efficiency, quality, and manufacturability.This is a strong opportunity for someone with deep CAD/CAM expertise, advanced machining knowledge, and a passion for innovative process improvement.What You’ll DoProcess & Technical LeadershipLead complex engineering projects from concept through completion, ensuring cost, quality, and delivery goals are met.Validate and develop manufacturing models using 2D drawings, scan data, and specifications to ensure manufacturability and dimensional accuracy.Analyze materials, machining methods, and process variables to drive efficiency and performance improvements.Develop and present design layouts to evaluate feasibility and optimize manufacturing flow.Collaboration & Problem SolvingParticipate in customer and internal design reviews to ensure compliance with technical requirements.Work cross-functionally with Production, Operations, Quality, and customers to resolve design and manufacturability challenges.Provide technical support and direction to CAM programmers, ensuring machining strategies align with design objectives.Adjust manufacturing models and processes based on shop floor feedback and production needs.Tooling, Fixturing & Machining OptimizationEvaluate and apply appropriate CNC workholding solutions, including vises, modular tooling, custom fixtures, vacuum plates, magnetic chucks, soft jaws, and dedicated tooling.Create detailed fixture and process drawings to support setup consistency, accuracy, and repeatability.Lead continuous improvement initiatives related to machining efficiency, accuracy, and toolpath optimization.Documentation, Costing & PlanningPrepare and maintain accurate engineering documentation — CAD models, drawings, process records, revisions, and specifications.Generate purchase requisitions for materials, tooling, and vendor-supplied components.Develop cost estimates, quotations, routings, and bills of materials within the ERP system.Conduct contract engineering reviews, maintain part hierarchy documentation, and lead kickoff meetings to support successful project launches.Safety, Compliance & StandardsAdhere to all safety policies, quality procedures, and compliance requirements.Support audits and review activities related to regulatory, customer, or internal standards.Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or 5+ years of experience in process engineering or a related role.Advanced CAD/CAM experience with strong machining knowledge.Expertise in blueprint reading and GD&T.Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.Proven ability to lead projects and collaborate effectively across teams.Preferred Qualifications10+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering.Six Sigma Black Belt Certification.Advanced 3D modeling experience.ERP experience.Experience working with CUI and ITAR requirements.Powermill experience.Siemens NX experience.
