Senior Maritime Data and Infrastructure Subject Matter Expert
OverviewSENIOR MARITIME DATA AND INFRASTRUCTURE SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT (DOT):Bowhead seeks a Senior Maritime Data & Infrastructure SME to join our team in Washington, DC. This position reports directly to the Executive Director and serves as the primary and senior staff lead within the US Committee on Marine Transportation System (CMTS) Executive Secretariat for all maritime transportation data and associated systems analysis. Additionally, as Infrastructure Investment Team Coordinator, you will work with the CMTS Economic Advisor to provide staff support to all interagency maritime investment-related activities. You will also join the Executive Secretariat staff to provide general CMTS activity support, which may include, but not be limited to, quarterly senior leadership meetings, monthly interagency working group meetings, and outreach activities. There is flexibility to expand portfolio based upon experience, interests and needs of the CMTS.ResponsibilitiesServe as primary staff lead for maritime resilience, supply chain, and infrastructure activitiesAct as senior liaison with CMTS member agency subject matter expertsProvide staff support for Maritime Resilience Integrated Action TeamProvide staff support for Maritime Supply Chain and Infrastructure Integrated Action TeamConduct stakeholder outreach as directed by Executive DirectorRepresent CMTS at conferences, workshops, and meetingsProvide general staff support to CMTS Executive SecretariatQualificationsBachelor's degree in Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Public Policy, Engineering, or related field. Master's degree preferred7-10 years in maritime transportation, supply chain management, infrastructure planning, or related fieldExperience with federal interagency processesExperience supporting working groups or collaborative teamsStakeholder engagement and coordination experienceSkills:Knowledge of U.S. maritime transportation systemUnderstanding of supply chain and resilience planningWritten and verbal communicationAnalytical and problem-solving abilitiesMicrosoft Office proficiencyOrganizational and project management skillsPreferred QualificationsCMTS experienceDOT or MARAD backgroundEmergency management experienceWorking ConditionsHybrid: DOT HQ and remote workTravel up to 25%Must be able to lift up to 25 poundsMust be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of timeMust be able to twist, bend, and squat periodicallySalary Range: 75,000-95,000SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Public Trust level.
