Aviation Planning Principal Consultant in San Diego

Position OverviewThe ideal candidate will have experience in managing airport planning projects from small to large scale at both general aviation and commercial service airports. The candidate will also have strong communication skills and understanding of aviation planning, environmental, sustainability, land use, construction, and commercial development principles. Experience and understanding of FAA policies and standards is also important. Specific assignments will depend on the skills of the individual.Position ResponsibilitiesManage all aspects of the project from identification of opportunities through project close out.This includes participating and developing material for proposals and project interviews, determining scope of work, estimating fees, negotiating contracts, budgeting and cost control, scope and schedule control, staff resource management and quality control of all assigned projects.Serve as primary client contact.Lead public and stakeholder participation sessions.Coordinate efforts with local, state, regional and federal agencies.Maintain current knowledge of aviation industry services, projects, and trends.Willingness to travel to client sites across the United States.Skills/Education/ExperienceBachelors Degree in planning, engineering or a related field.AICP, LEED AP, ENV SP, PE, AAAE CM certification, or pilots license.10 plus years of related experience specific to the position.Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills.Leadership experience including business development, aviation industry involvement, project management, and ability to manage and direct others.Estimated Compensation Range and Benefits$150,000 - $195,000/year**Actual compensation may vary based on related work experience, geographical location and market conditions, education/training, certifications, and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.J-18808-Ljbffr
