About the Organization
Seed the Vote is a project of Center for Empowered Politics and Everyday People PAC. We are a grassroots, social justice organization mobilizing volunteers to defeat right wing politics by supporting the electoral work of grassroots organizations in swing states building long term power of working class communities and communities of color.
Seed the Vote organizes and provides resources, including volunteer capacity, to support community organizations and labor unions with direct voter contact as well as other campaign needs. In 2020, Seed the Vote mobilized nearly 9,000 volunteers, including over 1,250 in-person canvassers, to support our partners in key swing states to defeat Trump and flip the Senate. In 2022, Seed the Vote mobilized volunteers to door knocking and phone banking in six key states to help defy the odds in the midterms and win major victories in the senate and house. In 2024, Seed the Vote mobilized over 5,000 volunteers to doorknock in 6 states.
Position Overview
The Support Team Manager is an integral part of the Operations Department and will lead a team of staff and supervolunteers to coordinate the logistics and financial support of thousands of volunteers who will canvass with Seed the Vote in the 2026 election season across the country. A primary function of this role is to implement effective, efficient, and scalable systems that facilitate the transportation, lodging, and tracking of our canvassers' trip details. This position is an essential leader in our Operations Department, reports directly to the Operations Director, and collaborates with the Organizing & Field Teams and the Finance Team. This is a term-limited position from Spring 2026 to November/December 2026.
Key Responsibilities
Recruit, onboard, and lead a team of both staff and 10–40 high-capacity supervolunteers who provide direct support to volunteers. Both the staff and super volunteer teams grow significantly in the fall for the larger scale general election work.
Develop systems for onboarding as the teams expand.
Lead and coordinate the Support Team, including managing schedules, convening weekly team meetings and office-hours, and managing team communication channels.
Ensure that program information is kept accurate and up-to-date in our systems and documents, and that the team is kept informed in an organized and timely manner.
Ensure that all volunteer canvassing trips are well supported, move through our systems appropriately, and that all relevant details are tracked and documented.
Maintain a culture of mutual support, fun, and attention to detail among the volunteer Support Team.
Logistics Planning and Coordination
Oversee our travel booking system for volunteer transportation to/from each canvass location, including: establishing parameters within the system, tracking travel details, and monitoring expenses.
Manage ground transportation in multiple locations, which may include: engaging shuttle or bus companies, identifying travel options to and from airports and hotels, providing clear and concise instructions to help volunteers utilize local travel options.
Support STV Staff with their travel and logistics to and from, and while in the field.
Work with the Pod Organizer & Branch Organizer to plan and coordinate logistics for large groups and delegations of canvassers.
Provide a high level of oversight for the Support Team staff and Supervolunteers to ensure that volunteer expenses are properly recorded and that financial support parameters and protocols are being closely followed.
Work with the Finance Team to ensure that volunteer expenses submitted for reimbursements are reviewed regularly for accuracy and completed in a timely manner.
Relational
Identify vendors in canvassing locations as needed, develop strong relationships, and coordinate STV needs: e.g. hotels, meeting venues, transportation, etc.
Work closely with the Operations Director to review, improve, and streamline travel procedures and internal workflows as needed.
Represent STV in a professional manner with STV staff, volunteers, vendors and partners.
Desired Qualifications
Commitment to STV's mission and values.
Minimum 3 years of experience working with volunteer programs, operations, or project management.
Experience working with multiracial working-class communities.
Previous work in electoral campaign settings is strongly preferred.
Experience supporting teams to work collaboratively and respond to shifting priorities and emergent needs.
Must demonstrate flexibility and excellent interpersonal skills and work well with people at all levels both inside and outside the organization.
Excellent written and verbal communication with staff, volunteers, and partner organizations; able to communicate clearly and concisely under high-pressure situations.
Must be a level-headed self-starter with an ability to prioritize, multitask, and work independently.
Ability to deal with sensitive issues professionally and maintain confidentiality.
Proficiency in Google Apps, Airtable, and other cloud-based applications.
Work Environment & Length of Assignment
This position may be remote or a hybrid remote/in-office arrangement. STV has an office in the San Francisco Bay Area, but the employee can live anywhere. It is a term-limited role starting in March/April 2026 and ending in November/December 2026. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, exempt, temporary position.
Physical Demands

Manual dexterity to operate a keyboard and other technology.
Able to see or read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids.
Able to speak clearly and in audible tones on the phone and in person and to be understood by others.
Able to hear and understand speech at typical levels in person and over the telephone.
Able to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Compensation
Salary Range: $80,000.00 – $95,000.00 annually. The final salary will depend on experience and qualifications. Seed the Vote provides competitive benefits, including health insurance (medical, dental, vision) and paid time off.
