Student Athletics Events Staff

This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only NDSU students are eligible to be hired in this position. Unsolicited applications to this posting will NOT be considered.Description, Duties & Responsibilities:
The North Dakota State University Athletic Department has a need for game/event staff to assist with and perform duties essential for the execution of athletic contests, internal and external events.
Game/event staff members will be responsible for taking direction from the Event Operations and Facility Management Staff in order to assist with the execution of duties needed in the preparation and running of all events at the Sanford Health Athletic Complex. Work may be intermittent throughout the year based on the schedule of events and staffing needs.
Requirements & Competencies:Work effectively in a service-oriented environment subject to frequently changing priorities
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors and other event staff
Work a flexible schedule including early mornings, days, evenings, weekends, extended (long) work days and extended numbers of days in a row
Take direction and handle multiple tasks
Understand and perform job functions under limited supervision
Serve in various support rolls for athletic competitions - Usher, media door security, ticket taker, court security, elevator operator, program seller
Occasionally perform location event set-ups and breakdowns
Work environment: The essential functions of this position are performed indoors and outdoors in the weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environments can range from minimal to loud during events depending on the employee's location, and is minimal during non-event times.
Frequently moving about inside and outside facilities in various areas before/during/after events in the course of performing duties assigned in desired locations.
Ability to stand for a substantial amount of time in certain rolls. This can be further discussed during interview.
Ability to lift objects weighing up to 30 pounds (or more with help) (boxes, tables, chairs, etc.)
Work Location:Sandford Health Athletics Complex
Hours & Schedule:Part-Time, Hourly Wage
Hours per week can range from 10-30 hours per week depending on sport schedules
