Internal Medicine Physician - Outpatient Only (MD/DO)Position SummaryThe Outpatient Internal Medicine Physician provides comprehensive primary care to adult patients in an ambulatory setting. This role focuses on preventive care, diagnosis, and longitudinal management of acute and chronic medical conditions, emphasizing continuity of care, evidence-based practice, and patient-centered outcomes without inpatient responsibilities.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive outpatient primary care to adult patientsEvaluate, diagnose, and manage acute illnesses and chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, pulmonary disease, and endocrine disordersPerform preventive care services including annual wellness visits, health screenings, immunizations, and risk-reduction counselingDevelop and implement individualized treatment and care plansManage medication therapy and monitor treatment effectivenessCoordinate care with specialists, ancillary services, and community resourcesProvide patient education regarding diagnoses, medications, lifestyle modification, and disease preventionEnsure continuity of care and appropriate follow-upMaintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in the electronic medical recordParticipate in quality improvement, population health, and patient safety initiativesComply with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standardsQualificationsDoctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical schoolCompletion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency programBoard-eligible or board-certified in Internal MedicineAbility to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensureDEA registration or eligibilitySkills and CompetenciesStrong clinical expertise in adult primary careExcellent diagnostic reasoning and clinical decision-making skillsStrong communication and patient counseling abilitiesAbility to manage complex chronic conditions longitudinallyCommitment to evidence-based, patient-centered careWork EnvironmentOutpatient internal medicine or primary care clinicWeekday clinic schedule with no inpatient responsibilitiesCall coverage, if any, limited to outpatient practice needsPhysical RequirementsAbility to sit, stand, and move throughout clinic environmentsManual dexterity for examinations and office-based proceduresVisual and auditory acuity sufficient for patient assessment and communication
