DIVISION ENGINEER CO-OP

The Division Engineer Co-Op will provide technical and engineering assistance to the Operations division of Grain Processing Corporation.This position is designed and intended to be performed in Washington, IN.PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Initiate innovations with respect to process and equipment modifications or changes, which improve operating conditions, safety, energy conservation, environmental concerns, and/or profitabilityManage capital and expense projects from conception to production, including preparation of financial justification, specifying, purchasing, as well as tracking all spending related to the projectDevelop maintenance and operator training documentation, conduct equipment qualification and initial training of production personnel, and make provisions for repair parts stocking levels.Work with the Division Superintendent to represent the interests of the Production Department in discussions with the Engineering, Process Development, and Creative Solutions Department on changes or new installations in the divisionProject management tasks such as: purchasing of materials and supplies, equipment installation, budget tracking, employee training, and startup of projectsMonitor process equipment downtime records to identify troublesome equipment and provide recommendations for improvementsCalculate material balances when processes change or when directed by Division SuperintendentResponsible for concept, design, estimating, proposal submittal purchasing, installation, start-up, commissioning, documentation, training, and closure of capital projectsDevelop project plans, timelines, cost estimates for process improvements to meet the overall manufacturing and operations objectivesWork directly with operations in troubleshooting and resolving process issuesEDUCATION:Pursuing a Bachelors degree in Chemical, Electrical, Agricultural or Mechanical Engineering required. Other engineering disciplines may be considered. EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:Previous experience in a corn wet milling or similar industrial process is desiredInternship or co-op experience in an operations or manufacturing environment strongly desiredStrong verbal and technical writing skillsAdvanced skill level in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications is strongly desiredExcellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize workloadTRAVEL: Limited travel (up to 10%) may be required for training or to support business needs.Other:Regular and timely attendance is required.
