UX Designer

Maritime@Penn is hiring a UX Engineer.You’ll design and build user experiences for tools used in marine robotics, mission planning, and real-time operations. Your work will help users make fast, accurate decisions in the field.What You’ll Do • Build intuitive, responsive interfaces using React and TypeScript • Work with researchers and students to understand user needs • Translate workflows and data into clear, usable UI • Maintain consistency across tools and platforms • Focus on accessibility, performance, and interaction quality • Test and improve designs based on feedback and usageWhat You Bring • Strong front-end skills in React, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS • Experience with UX design principles and best practices • Familiarity with design tools like Figma • Ability to prototype and iterate quickly • Clear, focused communication and strong attention to detailBonus • Experience with real-time systems or data visualization • Background in scientific, technical, or field-based applications • Knowledge of accessibility standards and testing methodsWe care about how your work feels in action.
