Saw Operator

Saw Operator Direct Hire Manpower has partnered with a premiere equipment manufacturer local to the North York area with hiring a Saw Operator. The Saw Operator is responsible for safely and accurately operating industrial saw equipment to cut raw materials to specified dimensions in support of production and fabrication operations. Job Responsibilities: Operate band saws, cold saws, or similar cutting equipment to cut metal or other materials to required specifications. Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, cut lists, and material specifications. Measure, mark, and inspect materials to ensure cuts meet dimensional and quality standards. Load and unload raw materials, staging cut materials for downstream production processes. Perform basic machine setup, adjustments, and routine maintenance (blade changes, lubrication, cleaning). Identify material defects, equipment issues, or safety concerns and report them to supervision. Accurately track material usage and completed work in ERP or production tracking systems. Work closely with fabrication, machining, and welding teams to meet production schedules. Work independently and within a team environment. Arrange work area and strategize layout accordingly to insure an expedited saw process. Requirements: Motivated self-starter who has the ability to work independently and within a team environment. Prior conveyor and/or machine assembly experience is a plus Ability/willingness to drive a forklift Strong mechanical aptitude. Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull and lift up to 80 lbs. Motivated by a results/dead-line oriented environment. Dependable and able to work overtime as required.
