R&D PACKAGING ENGINEER IIILocation: Arden Hills, MNWork Arrangement: HybridInterview Process: One interview with the hiring managerPay Rate: Up to $68.50/hourWork Authorization: Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship.Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced R&D Packaging Engineer III to support new product and packaging development within a cross-functional engineering environment.This role will focus on the development and improvement of packaging systems, materials, processes, and related technologies. The engineer will independently lead technical activities, analyze test and research data, establish specifications, and support complex product-development programs from concept through implementation.Key ResponsibilitiesLead technical activities supporting the development of new and improved packaging, products, materials, processes, and technologies.Support both current product programs and next-generation development initiatives.Develop and execute packaging design, testing, and evaluation plans.Analyze technical, operational, and test data to establish or refine packaging and process specifications.Apply engineering principles to troubleshoot and solve complex technical problems.Identify innovative solutions to packaging, material, product, and process challenges.Prepare technical reports, presentations, and recommendations to communicate project findings and results.Partner with cross-functional teams including R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, and other internal stakeholders.Support project planning, technical decision-making, and execution of major engineering activities.Provide technical guidance and expertise to project teams and internal customers.Mentor or support less-experienced engineers as needed.Maintain awareness of customer, clinical, business, and product requirements when developing technical solutions.Ensure all work is completed in accordance with applicable quality system and design-control requirements.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering or a related engineering discipline.Experience supporting new product development.Hands-on experience with packaging design and development.Experience working within a design-control environment.Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.Ability to work independently and within cross-functional project teams.Strong technical communication, documentation, and presentation skills.Preferred BackgroundExperience in a regulated product-development environment.Experience developing packaging for complex or highly controlled products.Familiarity with packaging materials, testing methods, specifications, and process development.Experience leading technical workstreams or project teams.Ability to work effectively with both internal teams and external partners.Quality ResponsibilitiesBuild quality into all aspects of work by following applicable quality-system requirements, procedures, and engineering standards.
