CustodianJob Category: Facilities/Grounds Full-Time On-site Fort Atkinson, WI 53538, USA DescriptionPosition Summary The Custodian plays a vital role in upholding the health and safety of the building by ensuring proper sanitation and completing chores in accordance with a structured master sanitation schedule. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and capable of working independently to meet high cleanliness standards. Key Responsibilities Sanitation Schedule Compliance:Follow and complete all daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks as outlined in the master sanitation schedule to ensure a hygienic environment. Restroom Sanitation:Thoroughly clean, sanitize, and restock restroom facilities, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and replenishing soap and paper products. Floor Care:Sweep, mop, scrub, vacuum, and buff floors (wood, linoleum, tile) and shampoo carpets regularly. Surface Cleaning:Dust furniture, walls, and equipment; wash windows, mirrors, and partitions using appropriate cleaning solutions. Waste Management:Empty trash receptacles and recycling bins and dispose of waste properly according to facility protocols. Chemical Handling:Mix and use cleaning chemicals and solutions safely according to instructions and SDS (Safety Data Sheets) to prevent damage to fixtures or injury. Equipment Maintenance:Operate and maintain commercial cleaning equipment, such as vacuums, floor buffers, and pressure washers; report any malfunctions to management. Security & Safety:Secure the building by locking doors and windows after cleaning shifts; report safety hazards, maintenance issues, or needed repairs promptly. Required Qualifications & Skills Education:High school diploma or equivalent. Experience:Minimum 5 years of professional cleaning or custodial experience preferred. Physical Stamina:Ability to stand and walk for long periods, lift and move objects over 50 pounds, and bend or kneel frequently. Technical Knowledge:Familiarity with cleaning products, tools, and industrial machinery (floor buffers, etc.). Time Management:Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage time efficiently to complete scheduled tasks. Working Conditions May involve shift work, including evenings, nights, or weekends. Exposure to cleaning chemicals, noise from machinery, and occasionally inclement weather when performing outdoor duties.
