Under the supervision of the Public Safety Officer Level V, this role coordinates training programs, supervises field performance, and ensures preparedness of personnel. The Training Coordinator also assumes command responsibilities in the absence of senior leadership and ensures operational effectiveness across assigned shifts.Specific Duties and ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and administer:Field Training Officer ProgramCampus-wide safety drillsOfficer certifications and recertificationsInterdepartmental and external training logisticsHazardous threat and emergency preparedness exercisesDepartment policy updates and training compliance trackingAny training-related tasks supporting department or college needsOVERALL PURPOSE AND RESPONSIBILITY:The primary and most important overall responsibility of all employees is to provide service in a pleasant, helpful, and effective manner to our students and other members of the College community.Minimum QualificationsEducation Required:Bachelor degree preferredExperience Required:Two years of experience as a Rowan College at Burlington County Public Safety Officer or prior documented public safety experience (civilian or military) in police, fire, EMS, corrections, or related field.Skills/Abilities /Knowledge /Other Requirements:Excellent time management skills, public speaking skills, problem-solving skills and both verbal and written communication skillsProficiency in word processing and presentation softwareAbility to operate media equipment such as projectors and personal computersKnowledge about traditional and modern training methods and techniquesExceptional organization skills, leadership and interpersonal skillsAbility to work with a team and have attention to detailKnowledgeable about learning management systems, instructional design and e-learning platformsAbility to handle multiple assignments and assess and analyze dataAdditional InformationINSTITUTIONAL EFFECTIVENESS:Collaborates with department members and/or the Compliance, Assessment and Research team to support planning, assessment, data collection and reporting for continuous improvement of the college.Employee Classification: Public SafetyResidency Requirement:The New Jersey First Act requires employees of all public institutions of higher education to reside in the State of New Jersey unless otherwise exempted under the law.
