CMM ProgrammerThis role develops, maintains, and executes CMM inspection programs to verify that materials, tooling, and manufactured parts meet engineering drawings and quality requirements. The position involves complete part setup and layout, inspection of precision components using CMMs and conventional tools, and accurate documentation of results in accordance with Quality Assurance procedures. The CMM Programmer applies a strong understanding of mechanical drawings, GD&T, and close-tolerance inspection to ensure parts meet stringent standards in a high-precision manufacturing environment.ResponsibilitiesDevelop, maintain, and execute CMM inspection programs to support dimensional verification of manufactured parts, tooling, and related components.Perform dimensional and visual inspections using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and conventional inspection equipment to assess part compliance.Program, set up, and inspect parts using Zeiss DB Series CMM and Calypso software to ensure accurate and repeatable measurements.Conduct surface table layouts and bench setups, using precision inspection tools and specialized gauges to verify critical dimensions.Perform complete part setup and layout, establish inspection starting points when required, and determine part acceptability based on specifications.Interpret detailed mechanical drawings, including GD&T per ANSI Y14.5, to define inspection strategies and measurement plans.Work to close tolerances, blueprints, specifications, and special instructions to ensure all parts meet engineering and quality standards.Prepare and complete inspection documentation, including First Article Inspection Reports (AS9102), in accordance with Quality Assurance procedures.Apply statistical quality control methods to monitor process capability and support continuous improvement initiatives.Ensure compliance with ISO9000 and AS9100 quality systems and related quality requirements during all inspection activities.Support model-based inspection requirements by using digital models and associated data to guide measurement and verification.Utilize FARO laser tracking equipment as required to perform advanced dimensional inspections and alignments.Manage multiple projects and inspection priorities simultaneously, ensuring timely completion of inspection tasks and reports.Communicate inspection results clearly and accurately to engineering, quality, and production teams, supporting effective decision-making.Essential SkillsStrong knowledge and hands-on experience with modern CMM equipment and CMM programming.Proficiency in programming, setup, and operation of Zeiss DB Series CMM and Calypso software.Experience with CMM programming tools and workflows, including development and optimization of inspection routines.Ability to use inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, and related precision measuring equipment.Advanced shop mathematics skills to perform complex dimensional calculations and tolerance analysis.Thorough understanding of GD&T and the ability to interpret mechanical drawings per ANSI Y14.5.Knowledge of statistical quality control methods and their application in a manufacturing environment.Thorough understanding of ISO9000 and AS9100 quality systems and related documentation requirements.Strong verbal and written communication skills to document inspection results and collaborate with cross-functional teams.High level of discipline, accuracy, and work ethic, with strong attention to detail in all inspection tasks.Ability to support model-based inspection requirements and work with digital models and technical data.Ability to manage multiple inspection projects and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with PC-DMIS or similar CMM programming software.Familiarity with Mastercam or other CAD/CAM tools used in precision manufacturing environments.Experience with calibration practices and maintaining inspection equipment in proper working condition.Working with high-precision composite or metal manufacturing programs.Comfort working with blueprints, specifications, and special instructions in regulated industries such as aerospace, defense, or medical.U.S. Person status as defined by applicable export control regulations.Why Work Here?The organization offers a comprehensive benefits package that supports both financial security and well-being, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, company-paid life and disability insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, and a profit sharing bonus plan. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, providing a consistent daytime work shift. The environment involves regular use of Coordinate Measuring Machines, Zeiss DB Series CMM with Calypso software, FARO laser tracking equipment, and a variety of precision inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, and depth gauges. The facility operates under ISO9000 and AS9100 quality systems, with a strong emphasis on adherence to documented procedures and quality standards. Typical attire includes a T-shirt, jeans, and tennis shoes, suitable for a hands-on, shop-floor inspection setting.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Anaheim, CA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $33.00 - $40.00/hr.
