Lead Front-End Developer (React) About the role As a Lead Front-End Developer , you will make an impact by designing and leading scalable, enterprise-grade web applications using modern front-end technologies and Micro Frontend (MFE) architectures. You will be a valued member of a cross-functional digital engineering team and collaborate closely with product, UX, backend, and cloud engineering partners to deliver high-performing, customer-facing applications.Responsibilities Lead the design, development, and governance of enterprise front-end solutions using React.js and Micro Frontend (MFE) architecturesOwn front-end architecture decisions, ensuring scalability, performance, security, and maintainabilityCollaborate with backend teams to integrate GraphQL and REST APIs , including backend-for-frontend (BFF) patternsPartner with UX, product, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into intuitive, high-quality user experiencesDrive code quality through hands-on development, peer reviews, and adherence to best practicesOptimize application performance, accessibility (WCAG), and responsiveness across devicesMentor and provide technical guidance to a distributed onsite and offshore engineering teamSupport Agile delivery through sprint planning, backlog refinement, and continuous improvement practicesWork model We strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Rest assured; we will always be clear about role expectations.What you need to have to be considered 12+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on front-end engineeringExpert-level experience with React.js , modern JavaScript (ES6+), and TypeScriptProven experience leading Micro Frontend (MFE) implementations in enterprise environmentsStrong understanding of front-end design patterns, state management (Redux, RTK, Context API), and component-driven developmentExperience integrating front-end applications with GraphQL and REST APIsHands-on knowledge of performance optimization, browser rendering strategies, and responsive web design (RWD)Working experience with AWS and cloud-based application developmentProficiency with Git, version control, and collaborative development workflowsExperience working in Agile/Scrum environmentsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experienceThese will help you stand out Exposure to Node.js and backend-for-frontend (BFF) architecturesFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and DevOps practicesStrong understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG)Experience delivering large-scale, customer-facing digital platformsBackground in Insurance, BFS, or other regulated enterprise domainsSalary and Other Compensation Applications will be accepted until April 17th, 2026 .The annual salary for this position is between $100,000 – $115,000 , depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program , based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.Benefits Cognizant offers the following benefits for this position, subject to applicable eligibility requirements:Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life InsurancePaid holidays plus Paid Time Off401(k) plan and contributionsShort-term and Long-term DisabilityPaid Parental LeaveEmployee Stock Purchase PlanDisclaimer The salary, other compensation, and benefits information is accurate as of the date of this posting.
