26003692Certified Medical Assistant/CMA – Heart & Vascular Specialist Clinic – Full-Time, Days,Bring your passion to Texas Health so we are Better + Together$5,000 Sign-On for Eligible New Hires**Work location: 4370 Medical Arts Drive, Suite 300, Flower Mound Road, TX 75028Work hours: Full-time, 40 hours weekly, Monday thru Thursday, 8:00am – 5:00pm, Friday 8:00am to 2:00pmTravel: 25% to surrounding clinics as needed (mileage reimbursement provided)Heart & Vascular Specialist Clinic HighlightsStrong teamwork and collaborationFast-paced, high volume inbound/outbound callsCompassion and empathy to our patients and the teamHere’s What You NeedHigh School Diploma or equivalent (required)CMA - Current Medical Assistant Certification (required)New Grads Welcome with Completed Onsite Externship1 year Medical Assistant experience (preferred)ACLS or BCLS (preferred)Ability to perform EKGs, draw blood and administer injectionsBasic computer skills using medical management application systemsEffectively communicate with staff and patientsThorough knowledge of the meaning and use of medical terminology and abbreviationsDemonstrate sound judgement in emergency situationsTake appropriate action in urgent circumstancesMaintain a positive, customer-focused attitude toward staff and patientsPossess a strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalismWhat You Will DoDelivers care to patients utilizing the Certified Medical Assistant ProcessPerforms general patient care by following established standards and procedures.Greets and prepares patients for the health care provider.Obtains and records vital signs including, but not limited to: blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies, and current medications and presenting problem.May be required to draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis as well as perform routine tests such as EKG.Documents patient plan(s) of care, tests and examination results in the medical record as directed by the provider.Communicates with patient regarding test results and plan of care by phone or mail as directed by physician.Prepares, cleans, and sterilizes instruments and maintains equipment, disposing of contaminated items according to protocol.
