Quality Engineering ManagerLocation: Sarasota, FL (On Site)Department: QualityReports To: VP – Omnia & Business OperationsRole SummaryThe Quality Engineering Manager is responsible for driving meaningful improvements in product quality, process stability, and operational discipline across the manufacturing floor and overall organization.This role bridges quality assurance and operational improvement by identifying root causes of defects, implementing corrective actions, and ensuring standardized processes are created, in place, and followed consistently.The position is highly hands-on and requires significant time on the production floor working directly with operators, technicians, engineers, and leadership to eliminate scrap, reduce variation, and strengthen process control.Success in this role is measured by improvements in scrap reduction, process capability, corrective action effectiveness, and operational adherence to defined procedures.Key ResponsibilitiesRoot Cause & Corrective ActionLead investigations into scrap, defects, and process deviationsPerform structured root cause analysisImplement and track corrective and preventive actionsVerify corrective actions are effective and sustainedProduction Floor Process ControlConduct routine process audits on molding, assembly, and secondary operationsEnsure operators and technicians are following standard work and setup proceduresIdentify process variation and escalate issues quicklyWork closely with technicians to stabilize molding processesContinuous ImprovementIdentify opportunities to reduce scrap, cycle time, and process variabilitySupport implementation of Lean manufacturing and standard workDrive improvement projects that deliver measurable operational impactAssist with development of visual management tools and performance metricsQuality Systems & DocumentationMaintain and improve quality system documentation consistent with ISO standardsSupport internal and external auditsEnsure inspection plans and quality documentation remain current and accurateCross-Functional CollaborationPartner with engineering, production, tooling, and quality teamsSupport new product launches and process validationsProvide training and coaching to operators on quality expectations and process controlKey Performance MetricsSuccess in this role will be measured by:Reduction in scrap and rework ratesImprovement in process capability and stabilityClosure rate and effectiveness of corrective actionsAdherence to standard work and process documentationImprovement in internal audit resultsQualificationsRequiredBachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, quality, or related field (or equivalent experience)3–7 years experience in manufacturing quality or process improvementExperience with root cause analysis and corrective action systemsStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to work directly with production teams on the shop floorPreferredExperience in plastic injection molding or medical manufacturingFamiliarity with ISO 13485 / ISO 9001 quality systemsLean Manufacturing or Six Sigma trainingExperience implementing process improvements in a production environment
