About the RoleWe are looking for a motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will support the design and development of flexible shafts, mechanical components, and manufacturing equipment while working closely with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams.This is a great opportunity for an engineer early in their career who enjoys hands-on problem solving, product design, and seeing their work move from concept to production.You will collaborate with engineering, sales, quality, purchasing, and production teams to bring new products to life and support improvements to existing designs.What You’ll DoProduct Design & DevelopmentSupport the design and development of flexible shafts, components, and mechanical assembliesCreate 3D CAD models and engineering drawings using SolidWorksConvert customer requirements and engineering concepts into manufacturable designsApply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles to improve efficiency and production readinessAssist with prototype builds, product testing, and performance evaluationsCreate and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and engineering documentationParticipate in Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and product updatesSupport new product launches, including prototypes, samples, and documentationHelp troubleshoot design, materials, and manufacturing challengesRFQ & Project SupportSupport the Request for Quote (RFQ) process in partnership with the Sales teamCollaborate with engineering, quality, purchasing, suppliers, and production to gather technical informationEvaluate technical feasibility, materials, and manufacturing considerationsTrack RFQ progress and ensure timelines are metAssist with technical cost analysis and supplier evaluationsWhat We’re Looking ForEducation & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field1–3 years of experience in mechanical engineering, product design, or manufacturing engineeringExperience working in a manufacturing environment preferredTechnical SkillsProficiency in SolidWorks 3D modelingAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings (English and metric)Working knowledge of GD&TFamiliarity with APQP tools such as Control Plans, PFMEA, and Process Flow DiagramsUnderstanding of mechanical design fundamentals (statics, dynamics, strength of materials, material properties)Additional Skills Experience with product development or design validationKnowledge of pneumatics, sensors, switches, or servo systemsStrong mechanical aptitude and curiosity for learningKey Skills for SuccessStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to manage multiple projects and prioritiesEffective communication and collaboration across teamsComfortable working with engineers, suppliers, and customersProficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPointWork EnvironmentCombination of office and manufacturing floorOccasional interaction with moving mechanical equipmentAbility to work hands-on with equipment during testing or troubleshootingMust be able to lift up to 25 lbs occasionallyRegular standing, walking, bending, and sittingWhy Join Us?Work on real engineering projects from concept to productionCollaborative environment across engineering, manufacturing, and salesOpportunity to grow your engineering career in a manufacturing environment
