Construction Official

The Borough of Manasquan is seeking to hire a full-time Construction Official to oversee and enforce the New Jersey Uniform Construction Code (UCC) and manage related administrative duties. Applicants must hold a valid Construction Official license issued by the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (DCA). The successful candidate will also possess multiple subcode licenses and be expected to conduct inspections under these licenses. Knowledge of FEMA’s floodplain regulations will be a plus. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of construction codes, management principles, and the ability enforce regulations and maintain accurate records. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with the public, co-workers and local and state officials are essential. Salary commensurate with experience.
