Role: Sr. Cloud Enterprise ArchitectLocation: Sacramento, CA (Hybrid)Duration: Long-term ContractPosition Overview:We are seeking a highly experienced Cloud Enterprise Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise-scale cloud infrastructure solutions. This role is critical in guiding cloud strategy from early planning phases through deployment and post-go-live support for mission-critical systems. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise across multiple public cloud platforms, strong leadership capabilities, and a proven track record delivering secure, scalable, and compliant cloud architectures—particularly within regulated environments.Key Responsibilities:Cloud Strategy & ArchitectureLead development of enterprise cloud architecture strategies and high-level designs for scalable, secure, and highly available environmentsDefine architecture blueprints across IaaS, PaaS, and serverless models aligned with business and technical requirementsConduct market research and solution analysis, presenting at least three viable architecture options and recommending optimal solutionsCollaborate with cross-functional teams (network, storage, server) to align infrastructure decisionsSolution Design & EngineeringArchitect cloud networking solutions including VPCs/VNets, subnets, routing, load balancing, and hybrid connectivityIdentify and implement core cloud services including compute, managed databases, storage, IAM, and key managementDevelop Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) templates and automation scripts for repeatable deploymentsSecurity, Compliance & GovernanceEstablish cloud security architecture including firewalls, security groups, and posture management toolsEnsure compliance with NIST, CJIS, and state-level requirementsDefine governance policies and risk mitigation strategiesOperations, Monitoring & OptimizationDesign monitoring, logging, and alerting systemsDevelop data management strategies including backup and disaster recoveryDrive performance optimization and cost managementMigration & DeploymentLead application and data migrations to cloud environmentsDevelop deployment strategies and support go-live activitiesLeadership & Stakeholder EngagementProvide technical leadership and mentorshipLead architecture reviews and present to stakeholdersParticipate in project governanceDocumentation & ComplianceProduce and maintain architecture documentationEnsure adherence to IT change management processesRequired Qualifications:13+ years of IT architecture experience, including 5+ years in cloud leadership10+ years across at least two public cloud platformsExpert-level cloud certificationExperience leading 3+ large-scale cloud projects4+ years IaC experience4+ years cloud security and compliance experienceStrong documentation skillsBachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, or related field
