Project Manager
Job Title: Project Manager/Engineer/CoordinatorJob DescriptionWe are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Project Manager, Project Engineer, or Project Coordinator to lead complex utility projects from initiation through closeout. These projects involve a variety of low voltage distribution work, both overhead and underground. The successful candidate will work with cross-functional teams, clients, and regulatory stakeholders to ensure that scope, schedule, and budget expectations are met or exceeded.ResponsibilitiesLead all phases of project management: planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout.Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure project execution.Track and manage project budgets, schedules, and risks.Act as the primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholders.Prepare status reports, forecasts, and presentations for clients and leadership.Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety protocols, and industry standards.Mentor and support project team members including coordinators and field staff.Monitor projects from conception to completion, ensuring all steps are completed in a timely manner.Reach out to other departments for projects with barriers to completion and escalate as needed.Collaborate with area LVD Planning Engineering Managers, LVD designers, and other teams to balance workplan completion, resources, and new business workload.Manage project scheduling within allocated hours to ensure Low Voltage Distribution (LVD) jobs are considered.Coordinate re-designs with local design partners and modify dates for notification, orders, and tasks when re-design is required.Work with Project Engineer and the overall statewide workplan to balance the workplan with budget and resource availability.Provide weekly updates to Program Managers and Directors on project statuses.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or General Business, or 2+ years of relevant experience.2+ years of project management and utility experience.PMP certification or equivalent preferred.Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, Power BI, and SharePoint.Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.Additional Skills & Qualifications* Experience related to utility work including LVD, substation, transmission, and natural gas.* Experience in underground utility and commercial or industrial construction projects.Work EnvironmentThis role involves visiting project sites as needed, with travel times typically ranging from one to one and a half hours once or twice a week. Work is based out of a brand new, state-of-the-art office in Northville, which offers a modern and exciting atmosphere.
