Paint/Powder-Coat Technician

As a paint/powder coating technician, you will be responsible for sanding, masking, and cleaning parts in preparation for powder coating operations. Technician is also responsible for performing sand-blasting and powder-coating techniques following written and verbal instructions while maintaining safety and quality standards. Requirements Duties and ResponsibilitiesPrepare sandblasting, paint, or powder coating metal parts by sanding, masking, and cleaningComplete sand-blasting and powder coat operations within a given time frame and according to written and verbal specifications.Inspect components during and after processing to ensure quality standards.Assist in maintenance, cleaning, and repair of equipment as assigned.Keep all work areas, including the staging area, clean and organized • Set up and operate a blast booth or similar equipment • Load and unload the blast cabinet • Apply and remove non-skid materials as neededAbility to learn procedures, tasks, and operations through on-site training from a senior member of the staff.Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions.Ability to maintain consistent attendance.Ability to maintain consistent quality of work performed. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • High school diploma or General education degree • 1 or more years of manufacturing experience preferredBasic computer skillsAbility to read, write and use basic math skillsStrong mechanical aptitude with the ability to follow precise instructionsAbility to communicate effectively with peers, managers and across departments Physical Expectations: The physical requirements described here are representative of an employee able to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
