We maintain a robust correspondent network that includes many of the most respected and prestigious lenders in the country, allowing us to deliver customized financing solutions tailored to borrowers' needs across asset classes and markets.The OpportunityWe are seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager to oversee and actively manage a portfolio of commercial real estate loans serviced on behalf of a diverse group of correspondent lenders. This role is responsible for end-to-end servicing oversight of assigned loan portfolios, including financial analysis, property inspections, risk identification, borrower and lender requests, and proactive watchlist management.The Portfolio Manager serves as the primary point of accountability for all loan-level activity within their portfolio—from onboarding through payoff—and plays a critical role in identifying, escalating, and managing loans that require heightened monitoring or special attention.This position operates in a high-energy, team-oriented environment, working closely with our Closing team, Analysts, Commercial Mortgage Bankers, borrowers, lenders, and third-party service providers. The ideal candidate demonstrates sound judgment, strong leadership, and the ability to inspire trust through ethical conduct, integrity, and alignment with our organizational values.Key Responsibilities• Take an active role in developing, revising, and implementing loan servicing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with lender requirements, company standards, and data security protocols.• Manage and oversee all servicing activity for assigned loan portfolios, including:◦ Annual financial statement collection, analysis, and reporting◦ Property inspection review and processing◦ Identification and monitoring of financial or physical risk indicators◦ Watchlist placement, escalation, and ongoing oversight• Supervise all loan events and actively manage watchlist loans in coordination with senior management, originating mortgage bankers, and lenders.• Process and oversee borrower and lender requests, including assumptions, collateral changes, and other loan modifications, preparing lender submissions that may involve research, financial modeling, and borrower credit review.• Oversee tax monitoring, UCC tracking, escrow analyses, post-closing follow-ups, loan onboarding, and loan payoffs.• Provide support for compliance-related matters, including borrower document compliance, database management, file maintenance, quarterly and year-end reporting, and audit preparation.• Assist with internal audits of loan servicing operations and processes.• Mentor and train loan servicing staff, including loan administrators and support personnel.• Maintain timely, professional, and effective communication with internal teams, borrowers, lenders, and third-party providers.• Participate in weekly portfolio and management meetings to review deadlines, issues, and priorities.• Collaborate with Closing and Production teams to support deal flow, lender coordination, and new client onboarding.• Build and maintain industry relationships through professional meetings, events, and participation in real estate organizations.Qualifications• Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.• 7+ years of commercial real estate experience in Asset Management or Portfolio Management within a financial institution or commercial mortgage banking environment.• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; strong working knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Adobe, etc.) and the ability to learn new systems quickly.• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong customer-service mindset.• Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.• Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.Compensation & Schedule• Base salary: $115,000 – $125,000, plus 10% annual bonus target.• Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.• Some travel required.• Locations: San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, San Diego, Denver, or Remote.Why Slatt CapitalJoin a long-standing, privately held firm with a 50+ year reputation for excellence in commercial mortgage banking.
